Fellswater at BRT 2013

Fellswater started 2013 in fine form with our return to the Blackstone River Theatre for our headline concert on Saturday, January 19th. A big thank you to all who came out for the first concert of the BRT season. Watch a video of Matt Phelps' solo at the concert.

The ensemble made our notloB concert series debut on Saturday, February 23rd at the historic Loring-Greenough House in Jamaica Plain, MA. Despite the start of yet another winter storm filled the house. Watch a short video from our acoustic evening.

Fellswater opened for the renowned Ireland based ensemble Sliabh Notes as part of the Backroom at The Burren series in Somerville, MA on Thursday, March 7th. We thank Brian O'Donovan and the crew at The Burren for a warm welcome.

Fellswater returned to the North Shore of Massachusetts with our debut in the Libby Fireside concert series at the Community House in Hamilton, MA. We had a lovely evening in a real acoustic gem of a hall! Watch a video of our performance of King of Laois.

Fellswater made our debut in the Sandywoods Music series on Friday, May 10th at Sandywoods Center for the Arts in Tiverton, Rhode Island. The band had a great time and we have already been invited back for 2014.

Fellswater Fall Concert Schedule: Two Debuts and One Homecoming

Fellswater at Peabody Institute Libary

Fellswater is in the midst of an intense two week/three gig performance period, featuring two Debut performance and one Homecoming. The ensemble made our North Shore debut at the Peabody Institute Library on November 19, 2012. We played in the ornate Sutton Room, a truly beautiful venue and great acoustics for an unplugged show. A surprisingly full house greeted us on a cold Monday night...we were well received and have been invited back for future concerts.

Next up was Fellswater's first Homecoming Concert at the Blackstone River Theatre (BRT) in Cumberland, Rhode Island on Saturday, November 24, 2012. This is the theatre's main fund-raising event for the year and all performers donated their time for this showcase of local talent. A beautiful evening was had by all. Fellswater will return to BRT on January 19, 2013 for our own headline act...stay tuned for details!

Our next performance will be at the Eliot Street Soiree at Jamaica Plain's Unitarian Universalist Church on Sunday, December 2, 2012. Be sure to purchase your tickets today for our Jamaica Plain Debut! Ticket price includes concert and appetizers and desserts.

Fellswater performs on the HMS Bounty

Fellswater had the good fortune to perform on the HMS Bounty on August 24th for a fund-raising reception by Plymouth 400. To keep with the traditional nautical theme for the evening, the band appeared for the first time in period costume. The group were a hit with the audience and we hope to have future gigs on this majestic ship. Photo credit to Denise Maccaferri.

3 November 2012 update: our thoughts are with the crew of the HMS Bounty, those who survived the sinking of the ship and for those who did not. A very sad day.

Fellswater returns to Blackstone River Theatre Summer Solstice Festival

Fellswater returned to the second annual Blackstone River Theatre Summer Solstice Festival that was held in Diamond Hill Park in Cumberland, RI on Saturday, June 16th. Fellswater had two stage times and played to a large and appreciative audience; the weather was just about perfect. A full line-up of the Festival performers is available here. The After Festival music session was truly outstanding and was a fitting end to a very long but rewarding day. Photos from our first set are now posted on Facebook. Here is a short video of Matt Phelps playing his solo set on the Heritage Stage. Fellswater hopes to return to the Blackstone River Theatre in the not too distant future.

Fellswater returns to Stuart Highlanders Spring Concert

Fellswater was a featured guest performer at the annual Spring Concert held by the Stuart Highland Pipe Band on Saturday, March 24th. Fellswater made our public performance debut at this event in March 2009. We were thrilled to be able to appear with our friends in the "Stewies", as well as perform on the same stage as the world renowned Middlesex County Volunteers Fifes & Drums (MCV). The event was a great artistic success; here is a video snippet from one of Fellswater's sets, and a video of the complete "Hector the Hero" set with Fellswater and Stuart Highlanders.

In other news, Fellswater will make our debut at the Cape Cod Scottish Festival in South Yarmouth, MA on Saturday, August 11th. Stay tuned for further details as they become available.

Fellswater debuts at Blackstone River Theatre

Fellswater made our long awaited stage debut at the prestigious Blackstone River Theatre (BRT) on Saturday, January 28th. The band presented a full-length concert at this well known venue and received a tremendous reception from an appreciative audience. Thanks again to Russell Gusetti and his terrific team of volunteers for making Fellswater feel at home on the BRT stage. Stay tuned for details on future performances by Fellswater at BRT! Below is a video of our "Farewell to Nigg" set from the concert.

Fellswater debuts at Boston Celtic Music Fest

Fellswater had a double-debut on Saturday, January 7th: our first ever invite to the Boston Celtic Music Fest (or BCM Fest) and our debut at the legendary Club Passim in Cambridge, MA. Combine this with extraordinary Spring weather and a spirited audience and we can safely say we have kicked off 2012 in grand style.

Next up is our Arts at the Armory concert on Friday, January 20th, followed closely by our stage debut at the Blackstone River Theatre on Saturday, January 28th. Be sure to order your tickets soon for both events!
